The used and abused

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder - £3.99

Every day I gaze enviously at the girls who can do ‘dewy’. Unfortunately slick rick over here can’t flaunt dewy and on the numerous occasions I’ve given it a go (and boy do I try!) within 10 minutes of leaving the house I look like I’ve had a blow torch to the face and all traces of base have slipped off my face and straight into the nearest drain. In fewer words, powder is a necessity for me and this one ticks all the boxes. Affordable, translucent and more importantly lasts almost an entire day.

NARS Laguna - £26

I use this for an all over‘glow’ rather than as contour as it is pretty dark. It has just the right amount of shimmer and really helps warm up the face on days i’m looking a bit dreary.

Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer £24

Great coverage creamy under eye concealer for when I’ve not had quite as long in my precious pit as I’d have liked (sadly, far too often).

The one and only downside – this stuff is thick! If I'm not careful I end up with creasing.

Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze £4.99

A quick smudge of this across the lids and I’m good to go! I can't say i've ever tested the 24hr claim, but the amount left of my peepers come bedtime leads me to believe they aren't telling fibs with this one!

Collection 2000 – Lasting Perfection Concealer £4.19 Boots

This stuff is a bargain, great coverage and ridiculously long lasting. There's a reason every blogger under the sun raves about it! I mainly use it for blemishes and stick to my Bobbi Brown creamy concealer for under the eyes but to be honest if you’re on a budget, this is good enough to do both.

MAC Hue - £15 MAC

My all time favourite MAC lipstick, a buttery finish and a great every day shade. Can't say I'm too happy about the sneaky price increase though...

Real Techniques Buffing Brush £21.99 (As part of the Core Collection)

The brush of dreams. What did I do before this? I honestly think I’ve blocked out all pre real techniques make-up application from my memory. I love all of the Real Techniques brushes that I’ve tried so far but this is the crème de la crème. It buffs in foundation like a dream and makes ‘early morning and still half asleep’ make-up application a lot more user friendly!

I think the state of these products speaks a thousand words... they could probobly do with a quick clean couldn't they?
